WSJ says obesity surgery is cost-effective.

A new report in the Wall Street Journal says that obesity surgery, probably the most drastic measure to address the disease, pays for itself "within two to four years by medical cost savings." Robert Clegg, on whom I had blogged a few days ago who is advocating the health insurance coverage for these procedures and other preventive care, certainly has supporters to his argument. It will be interesting to see if the health insurance companies realize the benefits such procedures provide for the insurance company, employers, and for the patients as well.
